Cervical Dysplasia Treatment

Your physician will explain what treatment options are available to you. We can usually manage abnormal pap smears in the office. The first step usually involves colposcopy — inspecting the cervix with a microscope and taking biopsies when necessary. Moderate or severe dysplasia may require treatment. We offer Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) treatment in the office, to remove the abnormal or dysplastic cells from the cervix. Sometimes surgical management with general anesthesia is preferred.
